Mood: miserable

Today I received bad news: I have 2.5 months to get my FBI level background check into immigration's hands. If I don't, I won't be able to stay at my school through the end of February. And if I need to get my background check together just to stay at the same school, I'll definitely need it for a new school. Apparently it's been taking 2-3 months to do background checks as of late. I might not have enough time to do it. You guys, I may need to go back home.

I am, well, kind of devastated. It's not the end of the world, and it may not even happen, but god am I worried. Sometime within the next two days I need to get my fingerprints done so I can mail them home to be mailed to the FBI to sit for 2 months to be mailed home to get an apostille to be mailed back to Korea. Shit shit shit! I need to talk out options with my boss.

You know what's the worst part? I've been in Korea for the last two years. Why do I need ANOTHER background check from a country I haven't been to since the last background check was performed? GOOD QUESTION. GOD. Fuck.

In other news, I'm on top of my studying and hopefully I haven't written a word today, but yesterday I was on target. Somehow my goals and my immediate future feel a little more important than my hobbies right now.

Oh, man, that's asinine. But Kazakhstan does the same thing--you have to leave the country in order to get your visa renewed. Immigration just sucks all around.

Ugh. When I'm ruler of the world I will make it illegal for immigration to be (too) bureaucratic. All I want to do is be a global citizen. Is that so much to ask for?
