Four rotating hips

Mood: like I have a cold
Music: Massive Attack - Inertia Creeps

Tonight I am taking a break from writing. I am tired - going to bed at 5am for a week straight is not necessarily conducive to sleeping well - and for a change I can, y'know, try to write a few thousand words BEFORE 10pm. Crazy idea, I know.

In reality, I'm actually taking the night off to read my brand spankin' new (free!) romance novels. Let's just call it "research." Cough.

I've decided that I'm going to skip ahead in my novel a bit because I'm getting a little bored with the last few scenes. In other words, writing about sex has ruined regular writing forever. I just want to get to the MURDER! I'm ridiculously excited to write about it. Plus, the more I write the more I realize that this novel needs massive editing. I think the issue is that I started off writing with no plot, and now that I have a plot I realize that my plot + what I've written already don't actually belong in the same novel. I'm still going to keep on trucking until I get to the end of this version, because I might be able to use everything in future edits.

Some new running PRs:
1mi: 7:41
3mi: 24:00 (5k: 24:30ish)
4mi: 31:41

ha you sound sooo much like me its crazy! i too LOVE to stay up until forever. i'm sooo bad, all week i've been sleeping at 3 or 4 am, getting up at like 12. its awful but so easy to do b/c i dont have to go into work until 2:30 pm! i also love to read/write, and in fact teaching here in Taiwan has made me realize how much I miss literature - its what I'm planning to go back to grad school for. i can't wait to meet you!

oh, I suspect I'll be doing the same thing when I'm in Korea... since I won't have to start work until ~12:30 pm. I actually worked a night job when I was in college (10:30pm-6am, usually in shifts of 4 hours), but in reality I'm a TOTAL morning person... I LOVE mornings. I just like nights too! hah. I love reading/writing as well, though I don't think I'd want to study literature in grad school--or writing for that matter. Too many snobs (or maybe that's just the people I know? hah). It'll be amazing meeting you :D

Hah research, that's a good word to use.

Sexual writing does kind of make it boring for the writer, I agree to that fully. Because I know when I tried I just wanted to rush it and get to the deeper meaning of love instead of physical. Kind of how I am IRL. Hah you know what would be cool? Sexual murder like..he just kills her (or visa versa) right in the middle of it.

I'm warped.

hahaha, research, fun, a waste of time - it's all the same in the end, right?

Honestly, I HATE reading sex scenes. When they come up in something I'm reading I just skip it (seriously). But writing it is pretty fun. Oh, jeez - just earlier today I was reading about snuff films on wikipedia. I definitely wouldn't enjoy sexual murder, btw. D:

Yes, you are warped. just a tad. ;)

Why do you think I mostly write PWPs that are only 4-6 pages long? :D
