Mood: frustrated.

Three minutes before my interview with a new recruiter I received an email, saying that he wasn't going to be able to call and would calling tomorrow work? Sure, why the fuck not. It's not like I have anything better to do with my time.

I'm going to apply to one more recruiter (for now). I'm debating between a few of them. One is very highly regarded, another provides an "orientation package" once you get to Korea (including an Introductory Korean textbook - and you know how I am about languages), and I know someone who has been corresponding with a third, so maybe they won't be too bad?

If I can't find a job by the first of September I'm going to switch gears. Some things I'm considering: get a TEFL certificate in either Chicago or Spain; volunteer in Cambodia; apply for next year's EPIK program; start up a Peace Corps application (again); get a job here in the US; keep looking for teaching jobs in Korea/Taiwan; try to go back to school to get an Education degree.

On a completely unrelated note, my laundry is currently sparkling clean and tonight I begin my half-marathon (marathon? 10k? IDK) training.

good luck on your interview tomorrow! (i think you mentioned you had one today too, i hope that went well!) the idea for the TEFL certificate sounds good too. keep me updated on how things are going! i'm still waiting to hear back from the one i told you about, that i've had contact w/ the people for awhile and they seem genuinely very nice and reputable. oh, check this program out if you haven't already, and let me know what you think: www.culturalembrace.com and the thing is most of their programs require a fee, but maybe its worth it because they seem like they've been around for awhile and they guarantee your position and everything.

thank you! actually, I never had the interview Monday - the recruiter e-mailed me at the last minute to reschedule for today (Tuesday). that... doesn't make me feel all the positive about matters. I'll keep you updated if you keep me updated, haha! I hope they get back to you soon; I'm really thinking about applying to them (or to a couple other recruiters).
the Cultural Embrace programs look good, but they're maybe a little too expensive I think... I'm looking at http://www.volunteer.org.nz/homepage.php - they have a ton of programs and they aren't TOO expensive. and their programs look pretty interesting. I dunno... I just hope this Korea thing works out. I'm getting really anxious about it. :(
