My head is throbbing.

Mood: headache

- After my run Saturday night I somehow managed to injure my foot, and since then I've been hobbling around. However, it has improved significantly since this morning, and I think I'll be able to run tomorrow or Wednesday.

- I'm going to start up training for a marathon. I don't have a marathon in mind as I don't even know where I'm going to be in four months, but I'm going to train for one nevertheless. I'll be using The Non-Runner's Marathon Trainer by Whitsett, Dolgener, and Kole, which is highly regarded and doesn't look too impossible. I plan to start next week and I intend to take things nice and slow.

- I got back my security deposit! All of the money was accounted for, so I'm pretty pleased.

- My laptop is currently in Grapevine, TX. I hope it doesn't get any conservative ideas down in the dirty south.

- I haven't shaved in over a month and I look fucking ridiculous. I'm contemplating shaving off my beard and leaving the mustache, but then I'd probably look like a very ugly 80s porn star. Or my father. Ugh. Whatever. I'm just going to keep this sucker till I get a job... whenever that is.

Run a 5K so you can get a feel for running in a race first. If you can run 3.1 miles with a couple hundred sweating and panting strangers, you can take on anything!

Running a marathon without doing smaller official races first is like losing your virginity doing reverse anal cowgirl with no lube while wearing nipple clamps.

My two cents.

Well, I already know I can run 5k (far more than 5k actually) - but yeah, I know, my current runs definitely aren't the equivalent of a real 5k. I've actually already looked for a local 5k to run in and I haven't found anything. Plus, I'm still trying to get sub-30 min with them.

But really, like I said in my entry: my distant goal is to run a marathon. I don't have one picked out yet, since I don't even know what country I'll end up in, but I've wanted to run a marathon since I was fat - so this WILL happen. I work best with an intended goal in mind, and at this point, a marathon is my goal. There actually aren't any marathons scheduled in 4 months in Korea (which is the scheduled end of the marathon training), but there are some scheduled in 3 months. I was actually thinking about aiming for a half-marathon at one of those, just to try things out a bit (so yeah, I agree with you). Plus, I've already figured out a way to extend the marathon training significantly, so I won't injure myself yet again. At this point I'm planning to use it less as a marathon plan and more as a way to increase my mileage, because what I've been doing (increasing by minutes) just isn't working.

Additionally... that is the most bizarre analogy I've ever read. Good job, my friend.

Soon you'll look like a Viking if you keep the beard thing up. You should post another before/after photo when it gets really bad hah.

I've always wanted to do a marathon and now that I have a new bike I might look into it, but I wouldnt want it to be for anything like a first place matters type thing. If I were to do a running one it would have to allow walking hah. I'm just lazy

hahaha. I'm actually going to have to shave sometime this week - gotta take an official picture to send off to Korea. I did take a few new pics (I'll post them tomorrow maybe, but here's a pic I took earlier today: http://www.flickr.com/photos/superthom/3721983052/)

Yeah, if I do a marathon I don't (currently) plan to aim for first - just to finish. I'd rather not walk any though, but I'm sure my opinion will change when the time comes. :P
