Mood: finally!

YOU GUYS, I HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW! HALLE MOTHERFUCKIN' LUJAH!

It's with a large hagwon in Daegu, the third largest city in South Korea. The start date is apparently July (!!!) - gotta double check though, the e-mail wasn't very clear. I did a little research and apparently it's as reputable as a hagwon gets. I'm not going to go into much more detail until the interview, whenever that is.

On an unrelated note: I need to get a credit card ASAP. Not counting my college loans, I don't have any credit. I have a checking account/debit card with US Bank. Any credit card recommendations? What credit cards do you all have?

Also, there's nothing like eating Indian food on the 4th of July. Chicken biryani, chicken vindaloo, chana masala, mattar paneer... amazing. It's fitting, really. And okay, so it's not the 4th yet - big deal. According to the government the 3rd is close enough...

Congratulations! I bet you're feeling pretty good right now.
I have a chase credit card. I tried to apply for other places but due to never having credit before they didn't let me get one which sucks. Because how am I supposed to get credit if no one lets me get a card?

Thanks! I am... although I'd probably feel a bit better once I know for sure if I get the job or not.
That's exactly how I feel! Credit cards for college students are very common, but as a new graduate I'm shit outta luck. How am I supposed to build credit without a card? ridiculous. I'll look into Chase credit cards though... thanks :/

I would recommend chase. I have two cards with them (because they took over WaMu) and I really like them.

Excellent! thanks for your recommendation - I'm going to look into them ASAP. Hopefully they have a card that, y'know, wouldn't reject me... like every card from my bank. :P

LOL. I know how you feel. if not, try capitol one. they were the first ones to give me a credit card when I had no credit. just make sure if you go with them you aren't late/don't miss a payment because they jacked my interest to something insane like 28%.

oh man! That sounds amazing. Do you remember which card you had with Capitol One? I don't even plan to use my credit card much tbh - that sort of spending power terrifies me. I just want to build up credit and have it just in case I need to get out of Korea ASAP. Thank you so much!!

you're welcome! I think I just had a regular capitol one-- I don't think it was a student account or anything. I had a small credit limit ($350), so it kept me from going too wild. good luck! let me know if you have questions or anything, I'm a credit card expert now (which really isn't a good thing, lol)

ooh, that sounds great! I wonder if US Bank has one? I'm definitely going to look into this. I'd really like the small credit limit, haha - although I'm assuming I'd have one no matter which card I went with. Thank you so much! If I have any questions I'll be sure to come to you, haha. :):)

you're welcome!

just an fyi, I was looking, I think it was this one I had:

http://www.capitalone.com/creditcards/products/details/?sol=10977&tc=20&credit=2&linkid=WWW_0608_CARD_TGUNS02_CCPMP_C2_07_T_CP97720AW

I had the one with the ocean shore on it, lol. but the interest rate and all that sounds about right.
