Taking matters into my own hands.

I emailed my Korea recruiter the other day after not having heard a word from her in 1.5 weeks - she hasn't responded back. Well, whatever. I'm taking matters into my owns hands and trying new shit out. (EDIT: She just replied back. Apparently their website glitch from a few weeks ago is still an issue, but, as she says, "I've recommended you to a few good schools and will let you know if any of them request interviews! I do think we'll find something soon." We'll see how this goes.)

I'm switching gears slightly and looking at working in Taiwan. IDK. Just seems like the thing to do.

Today I applied to a Taiwan recruiter and a school in Taiwan. I'm also going to apply to another school in Taiwan and a conservation job in Arizona. I'm going to find a goddamn job if it kills me.

Oh, also: I'm not shaving till I find a job. This could get ugly. (1.5 weeks since I last shaved. I look like a mass rapist. Shit son.)

I laughed at the no shaving part. Jobs are terrible to find these days, I swear I can't find anything even the least thing I want to do.
Hopefully something works out for you, which would you want more? Taiwan or Arizona?

Jobs are absolutely ridiculous these days - and I'm sick of sitting around, doing nothing. What sort of job are you looking for?
Thanks! I'd really prefer Taiwan at this point, but Arizona is still in the running (and so is Korea, for thatmatter). to be honest, if I were to stay in the US I'd like to head off to Seattle or Portland, but I want to go abroad a little too much. Maybe in a few years... :/

I applied for a job in Seattle last week! How about I get it and then we move there and are bad ass roommates together? Sound good?

I'll ask Rob again if he emailed his friend in Tokyo, and find out his recruiter, if you'd like. He said he would, but I think he may have forgot amidst various work chaos.

That would be great - thank you (and Rob) so much! And on a semi-related note, I totally forgot to contact your LJ friend about his time in Japan. I should probably do that, haha.

Would you shave prior to an in-person interview?

Also, I texted you about this a week or so ago and haven't received a reply (do you have texting? My apologies if you don't have a plan) - if I were to have a ride up to Chicago during Lollapalooza, would you be willing to take me in for a few days and show me around the city? I have some friends who want to go to the music fest, and it seems like a good opportunity to spend time with my favourite Chicagoian. :)

I think an in-person interview is close enough to getting a job... so yeah, I'd shave. Although maye I'll keep my moustache. It's pretty sexy (in that bad 80s porn sort of way).

My texting plan is awful and half the time I don't receive texts (and it costs too much to read/send them). Sorry!! And I'm so so sorry, I'd love to show you around, but staying here really wouldn't work--my parents have issues with people staying in our house. (Or, rather, my dad does. Long story.) But like I said, I'd love to show you around, although idk how good a job I'd do - I know the suburbs and Michigan Avenue like the back of my hand, but beyond that it's all Greek to me...

btw E>
