The good news: I finally received my diploma. Apparently I graduated cum laude. That's pretty cool.

The bad news: the public school rejected me. Said they chose a more qualified candidate. Oh well. Can't say I'm happy, but what can you do?

1) Thanks! :D

2) Yeah, all that means is that the job wasn't right for [us]. Sooner or later we'll both be successful...

3) I saw on Facebook that you were accepted to a school! Congrats! Do you know what you want to study?

Well, helping people is a valiant goal - definitely something respectable. Kudos to you. Hopefully your health will permit you to do whatever you'd like. :)

*hug*

congrats about the diploma!

and I'm sorry about the job. you're too awesome though to stay unemployed for long. just keep trying, as cliche as it sounds.

I congratulate you about the diploma! It seems unthinkable but yesterday (June 5) I received my diploma too! After a long time I finally did it and therefore I know well enough a sensation of weariness and a rootless feeling.

We have a proverb: “Whatever God does is for the best”. I think you can find far better job soon. I am confident that everything will go well!

P.S. Sorry for my English :)

Thank you! And congratulations to you too! It's weird to think you actually accomplished your goal... that that's the end (of that part of your life). Oh well. What did you get your degree in?

That's a great proverb. Thank you for the well-wishes - I think I can find a job soon as well. What happened happened for a reason; I can't do anything about it now, but I can certainly try to improve upon things for future interviews. :)

Don't worry about it! Your English is quite good. :)

It is my second degree and now I’m a veterinarian. But I’m not a veterinary practitioner; I specialize in the animal behavior. It’s really interesting – try to talk with animals, try to understand what they want to say by some means or other.
To tell the truth, I don’t know what I should do next. Perhaps I start the full-time postgraduate study, or maybe I’ll take a timeout for a while because I spent six years at academy scraping along :)

Oh that sucks :/

If you're interested in Japan at all, I can talk to our friend over there and see who he was hired through.

If you don't mind, that'd actually be really great. I may still end up with a job in Korea (my recruiter is still sending out my resume...) but I'd like to have options. :)

I asked Rob and he said he'd zip an email off to his friend. He's pretty busy, so I'll bug him about it tonight to make sure he sent it :-)

You also might want to talk to my friend gaijin_m. He spent a year in Tokyo teaching English, and could tell you who he went through. You can send him a PM, and just tell him I sent you, or if that weirds you out, I can just send him a message asking him for you.
