This was a headline on CNN.com: 1 Killed In Tornado Near Kirksville
Here's another article, with more information: BREAKING NEWS: TORNADO IN KIRKSVILLE

Yeah, that's the same Kirksville, Missouri that I'm still living in. Talking about fucking ridiculous.

I heard the tornado siren at about 6pm, opened a few windows, and I decided to stand at the window looking out at the sky instead of going into the bathroom. If I'd known it was a real tornado, just a few miles away... I probably would've nixed that idea. I mean, shit, son.

yeah, I do... fortunately I'll be moving back to Chicago in a week or so, which, why still a prime area for tornadoes, does not receive quite the beating Missouri does. the town I've lived in for the last few years hasn't even had a tornado siren go off since I've moved here... oh well.

also, I was just wondering about the requirements for writing up a review or two for The Useless Critic... do I need to fuck my way to the top? 'cuz I probably wouldn't be too adverse to the idea. but being opinionated is totally something I'm good at. I mean. Fo sho.

Nah, you're fine (lol I sound like Nikki!). I've always lived in the neighborhoods where tornadoes bring us all together, because we all stand at the ends of our driveways, necks craned up at the sky, talking with the neighbors we usually ignore while sirens wail away in the distance.

It's always good times, fo' sho'.

In Chicago we really only ever have tornado sirens going off in the month of August, and usually my parents make me go down to the basement cuz they're lame like that, haha. My hometown didn't have a tornado since the 60s - until just a couple years ago (well, maybe - I don't know if it was officially a tornado or not). And, since I was here in Kirksville, I got to miss the excitement, haha.

A few of my neighbors here in the 'ville went outside while the sirens were going off. I should've joined them...
