Music: Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work

I spent most of V-day sleeping and translating. Frankly, at this point, I'm all translated out: I did 5 pages yesterday. No, it doesn't sound like a lot, but when you're looking up just about every word and fiddling with sentence constructions and wondering why you're so horrible at the Russian language, well, it's more than you'd think.

Friday I got to walk through a pretty fierce snowstorm to Amanda and Erin's, where we had a Russina movie night. Well, sorta. We watched half of Stalker, which is one of my all-time favorite films, and everyone decided to switch to something else. Whatever. They're just a bunch of philistines anyway. It was a good time, I guess.

I've been feeling a little off lately. I'm always busy, my friends are always busy/abroad/already graduated, and I spend most of my time either in class or alone at home. Hell, Friday night was the first time I went out this semester. I'm pretty sure I'll get over my depression or whatever it is pretty soon. I just feel like wallowing in it for the time being.

5 pages of translating in one day is a lot. It's hard for me to translate more than three pages of German in a day, and I imagine Russian is a ton more difficult to translate than German is. (For one thing, you probably don't have a lot of "obvious" words that are roughly the same in both languages.)

yeah - the worst part is the fact that I've been recognizing a number of words (as in, I'm 100% certain that I've looked them up before), but then I can't find them in what I've already translated. It's SO frustrating. Honestly, before this semester I always sort of enjoyed translation... but these days it's driving me up the wall. argh!
