Kansas was a lot of fun. Okay, I know, it sounds like an oxymoron, but it was. Tiring at some points, but fun.

Christopher and Erin picked me up at about 6pm Friday evening, and we got to Louisburg at almost exactly 10pm. We all (me, C, E, Amanda, and Kara) hung out for a few hours and then went to bed.

Saturday we got up, played with the many kittens that hang out around Kara's house (seriously, they have 12 cats... it was amazing), and then we headed off to Kansas City. We stopped off at World Market, where I got some German gummies and a Nutella-esque spread and contemplated buying another African mask. Then we went to lunch at a Mongolian barbecue place. Then we went to a few more stores (a free-trade store, a Russian/Eastern European grocery store, a used CD/movie store, etc). I bought a bunch of Russian candy and two Russian books that I may or may not use for my capstone project next semester. (The plan: translate one of them into English. We'll see how that goes when the time comes.) Then we returned to Kara's and watched Supernatural.

Sunday we went to a tiger & big cats preserve, got lost, got a flat tire, and got back on track. We stopped off at a cider mill, where we bought sodas and cider doughnuts (delicious) and then we made it to the tiger preserve. It was pretty fascinating. Later we finished up Supernatural. Monday (today) we got up, ate, and left. We dropped off Amanda at the train station in Kansas City and then headed off back to Kirksville. I then slept. And ate a little. Good stuff.

I uploaded pictures from this weekend to my Facebook. If you want to see them, go check that out. If we aren't friends on Facebook, you should probably add me. (Click here.) I consider myself closer to my LJ friends than most of my Facebook friends, so this is not as crazy as it sounds. Well, okay, maybe a little. Whatever. Try not to stalk and kill me, alright?

I'm currently at work, where I'm doing my Russian homework. "Doing" being the operative word. I've done 5 exercises already... and I have 15 to go. Sweet Jesus. This is going to be a long, long night... and a long, long semester.

Might we who still resist Facebook with nail and tooth (apparently I'm the only one in the entire world) get to see at least cat pics at some point? :D

I just overcame stupidity and realized that you can link Facebook photo albums to non-Facebook users. Exciting!

Both have cats, although some are decidedly larger than others. ;)
