I went hiking with my uncle today. He was planning on taking his dogs Lady and Pita for a run up the mountain, so I went with him. We drove for 45 minutes on gravel and dirt roads - hitting seemingly every single pothole along the way - got out, and hiked for an hour and a half. We then drove for another 20 minutes to the Cheat River. And then we returned home. I really do enjoy hiking, but I just don't have the opportunity to do it very often. Kirksville is close to a few state parks; I should take advantage of it while I still have the chance.

Oooo pretty town. Being from a big city, I'm fascinated by towns for some reason.

I know, right? I do like small towns, but... they get old after a while. After living in the middle of nowhere for a while, you get really claustrophobic. :/

No matter how poor and old and fat the residents of WV are... it's still a goddamn beautiful place. Possibly the most beautiful place in the world (!)

Thanks :):)

aw, thank you :)

My camera is a Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS. It's small, has image stabilization, short lag time, cheap, and honestly it does most of the work of taking pictures for me. :x

WV is the most beautiful place I've been. You definitely should travel around here - it'd definitely be worth it.

You take amazing nature photos. I love just how clean and refreshing it looks. Unlike here where it's hot, humid, and rainy. It's nice to know it's beautiful somewhere.

Thanks! WV is such a beautiful place, and I always find it interesting that nobody ever realizes that. Hell, if you really wanted to, you could drink out of some of the streams out here.

Oh, and don't let the pictures fool you - summers are humid and rainy here. Elkins (where I am right now) has over 300 days of cloud cover in a year...

Thanks!

Yes, you can go fishing in that river, but not at the location in my photos - it's not the best location for fishing. Down the river a bit is a better place for fishing. :)
