Here's what's going on.

This week is much less stressful than the last few weeks, although I'm still fairly busy. I totally rocked the free world (and several small, third-world African countries, in which there were multiple rock concert benefits held in my honor) in Russian today. So THAT'S what happens when you study! Gosh.

I got an A on my French test, but I still have to write the five page paper. That's okay; only two people have even done it. Dr. J bashed my Tolstoy paper, but hey, at least I didn't have a three-page paragraph this time (sigh). Um, I register for classes next week. I plan on taking Int. Russian II, Survey of Russian Lit II, Modern Russian Novel, French Lit II, and JINS. Hopefully I'll get into the JINS class I want.

I'm kind of vaguely thinking about studying abroad at some point in the next 1.5 years. I'm too late for next semester, and I'm spending next summer at a Russian immersion program, so that leaves senior year. I'm leaning toward second semester (when I plan on graduating), but is that even possible? I have no clue. Well, regardless of study abroad, I'll be heading to Russia when I graduate, so it really doesn't matter.

NaNoWriMo starts in t-minus 7 days! I'm not planning on actually doing a full novel, I just want to finish up one I began over the summer. It's rather depressing and in the first person, present tense, and I'm truly passionate about it; it's radically different from what I normally write. Kara is planning on participating as well, so I'll have someone to motivate/motivate me, which will be totally awesome.

I know where I went to school you couldn't study abroad your last semester. You had to actually be going to that school to graduate as a full time student.

See, this is what I've been hearing a lot of, but then someone tells me something like the following comment (you can study abroad your last semester, you won't be able to walk at graduation, etc). sigh.

It's completely possible to study abroad second semester of the year you're planning on graduating. You just wont be able to walk for the ceremony because you will be gone till about the end of June, depending on the university.

I found a place on the Study Abroad website that says effectively the same thing as this, but I've still been getting a lot of people who are saying the complete opposite. Frankly, I wasn't even planning on walking at graduation. My main reasons for studying abroad my last semester is 1) to have an organized experience abroad before I go over by myself, and 2) so I only have to pay for tickets out of the country one time, as opposed to twice (thereby saving me a shitload of money). The program I'd go on ends at the end of April, sooo... yeah.
