Last weekend a group of us went to Busan. It was an interesting trip with a variety of fails and a few successes. Drinking two bottles of soju on an empty stomach followed by successfully making a dinner reservation at a Thai(!) restaurant entirely in Korean, later eating said Thai food, then twenty minutes later getting Mexican food being one of these successes. The beautiful sand art and the long hike/walk to the World Mystery Museum with Megan and Lisa and all of our luggage was a total success. The lack of decent food options was a fail. So were the other foreigners.

A thought: I really hate foreigners. Obnoxious drunken assholes, the lot of them. I include myself in this.

The week was pretty okay. Friday by far my best day - my kids are so smart and fun and I just enjoy teaching them. Tuesday and Thursday are pretty average. I did an interesting review with my five year olds on Wednesday: the class I'd formerly considered more "advanced" failed miserably (and were little punks to boot), whereas my "lower-level" class nailed everything perfectly. It was an eye-opener, that's for sure.

Last night I went downtown, got only a little drunk, and came home at 2:30. Today I woke up at 8:30, played Slingo for a few hours (it's the best app ever, download it, seriously), and then exercised and cleaned. Then lunch. Then a long slog home in the boiling heat and a 2.5 hour nap. Now I'm just debating if I should eat dinner or read. Megan would say read, because I've started The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner, but I should eat food before the evening's festivities begin. "Festivities" being drinking. You know how it is.

I realize I just posted and I never post more than once a week (except when I get in the mood), but this seems too important to post on twitter:

I just saw a slug in my bathroom.

I had two immediate thoughts:
1) Oh my god, my apartment is infested with vermin.
2) West Virginia. I haven't seen a slug since the last time I was in West Virginia, crawling up the side of the old trailer behind my grandparents' house.
