worn through and through

This evening I had an interview. FINALLY. First interview since June. I only found out about it 40 minutes before the interview actually took place. I went into the interview with a few prepared questions (e.g. How large is the school? How many students are in each class? What is the housing like? etc, etc), including one very important one: Collapse )

On a related note, I applied to another recruiter. Yes, another. I've got 3 of 'em working for me right now. Collapse )

Saturday night I ran 5 miles, which was a nightmare. It was very, very hot and humid. By the end I felt like I was about to pass out. Tonight I was planning to run 6 miles in an attempt to use up some of the adrenaline from earlier, but halfway through the run my legs began to hurt. I ended up only doing 4 miles (only!). And then, as I did my cool-down run, I realized what was wrong: I was wearing the wrong shoes. I wore my walking shoes instead of my running shoes. The same walking shoes I've been wearing for over a year. Yeah. Not so bright, am I?

the sweet scent of success

Remember that job I interviewed for, oh, 4 hours ago? Well, I got the job. I'M NOT A TOTAL FAILURE AFTER ALL!

Okay, here's some info:

Location: Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do (wiki/galbijim) (pop: ~210k)
Housing: 5 minutes from the school (whatever that means), with the other teacher (separate rooms)
Hours: 9:40-7:20pm MWF, 9:40-6pm T/R (but 30 hours a week? I don't know how that works.)
Teaching: kindy/elementary (4-8 year olds)
Salary: 2.2M won/month
Starting date: "the end of September", although the woman with whom I interviewed said that I start "September 10" - I don't know if it's even possible to get my visa by then...

But. I'm excited but I'm trying not to get my hopes up TOO much. Before I make any decisions I need to see the contract, talk to the current foreign teachers, and see if the visa thing will work out. Plus, I've got two other recruiters just waiting to find me a job. (Although I certainly hope they aren't waiting.) But still. JOB!!!
