history's great navigators

hypermediocrity

I'm finally back in Des Plaines. I've unpacked, done several loads of laundry (for free! Heck, I can finally stop hoarding quarters! Hot damn!), eaten, and read a book since I got home. Ahh. Relaxation's never felt so sweet.

After a lot of stress and angst, I also managed to get my laptop connected to the internet - at the expense of my mother's computer's internet connection. Oh well. We've agreed to switch off days, so I suppose we'll be able to survive. It makes up for winter break, when I was forced to use my mother's computer, located in her bedroom. Ack.

What else? I'm hopefully going to go running tonight, which will be an interesting experience. Hopefully I won't get hit by a car or run over by a train or something.

As a graduation present, my parents gave me some savings bonds that they bought for me back when I was a baby. All together it's something like $2000. I am seriously thrilled - that money is, most likely, going straight to paying off my loans. This is just fantastic.

Also, my family may be going to the beach this summer. Hopefully I won't burn quite as badly as I did the last time we went. But man, this'll be great. I hope it actually happens!
