every frequency

the only maker that you'll want to meet.

I feel like I've accomplished a lot today.

It started sometime last night - which, granted, isn't actually "today", but it is because I say so. I finished reading one book (So You Want To Be A Wizard by Diane Duane), began reading a second (Deep Wizardry by the same author), and fell asleep. It was about 10pm at the time.

I woke up at 12am, computed for a while, and began to read more before I brushed my teeth and got to bed. Before I continue with this entry, I would like to extoll the fabulousness of Diane Duane's writing. Her books are incredible - while they might have been written for "intermediate" readers, and while they might be science fiction/fantasy... they have this poetic quality to them that is superior to all other books. I wish I could do that - that is, write in one genre in a style that could practically make you cry. It's brilliant.

Okay. Back to the topic.

I woke up at about nine this morning, after about five hours of sleep (the joys of reading at obscene hours of the morning takes its toll on me). After eating breakfast and reading more, I decided to touch up the dye. I wanted to try to make all of the dye even (so it wouldn't fade in too bad of a pattern), and I accomplished it. It looks amazing - a bright, vibrant shade of purple. It looks great in light and even in the dark. Something that I have noticed with my hair is that I'm not too surprised when I look in the mirror. Previous dyeing attempts resulted in weeks of being startled by my own visage. Now? Only the first time I checked a mirror. It's almost like it's natural.

After I painted the bathtub purple with my dye (read: after I showered), I threw in a load of laundry, lugged the lawn mower up from the back of the basement to outside, and - wait for it - mowed the lawn. I haven't mowed that SOB for a few weeks now, so it was a pain. I was quite amused by the fact that people who walked and drove by all seemed to stop and stare at my hair. Yeah, you wish you had this mane, BITCHES.

Then I finished mowing, finished up my book, and began the third in the series (High Wizardry). I'm satisfied.

I have decided that I want some piercings. Several, in fact. I'm currently dreaming about getting my ears, eyebrows, and lip (the middle of the bottom lip) pierced. I don't know why. I just want it. Just wait - 20 years from now, I'll be thinking back to my teenage days, and thanking God that I hadn't gotten any extra holes in my body.

I'm tempted to begin homework. Instead, I think I'll read some more.

Shit! Annie just lodged a few claws into my skin and yanked. Damn cat. I now have two bloody scratches and one large hole (that, surprisingly, isn't bleeding) on my arm. I share because I am sure you care.

My hands are still purple. I just thought I'd inform you of that.
