this is me

i was lost and now i'm not.

Last night, after I finished my third book in two days, I decided to count how many books I have read since school ended.

Now, I knew I had read quite a few; specifically, the 15 while I was sick and the 12 (11?) from vacation. Somewhere in there, as a flight of whimsy, I decided to see if I could read 50 books before school started back up. I wasn't actually expecting to come anywhere close, to tell the truth, since I've been on this reading-really-long-stories-on-fictionpress kick for the last month.

I have read 39 books this summer. I have 11 to go to hit my 50 book goal. That is good, people. I haven't even counted the number of novel-length stories I've read on FP... if I hadn't been reading them, how many books would have I gotten through by now? Maybe I should go for 100 next summer.

When I first heard Insatiable by Darren Hayes (one half of Savage Garden) back in 2002, I hated it. I couldn't understand why Amra (who sent me the song) liked it so much. A few weeks ago, I downloaded his new single, Popular - and I was wondering what the hell he was smoking when he wrote that song. However, I kept playing it, since it had such a good beat. It grew on me. I downloaded another song from his upcoming album, Darkness, last night - and I love love love it. I have played it over and over again. I'm addicted. He's brilliant, in that distressingly metrosexual sort of way.

And now I'm watching the opening ceremonies for the Olympics. To tell the truth, I'm not all that fond of the summer Olympics... except for gymnastics and synchronized swimming. Gymnastics because I've always wanted to do what those people do, and synchronized swimming because it makes me laugh. I don't actually know who is favored to win what event, or, hell - what times the Olympics are even on. There hasn't been much in the way of publicity, recently.

i must confess
i've been a ve... ry bad boy
been sleepin' around
talk of the town
