그냥... 12월....

Mood: okay

For some reason Korean got quite difficult a week or so ago, and then suddenly it got easy again. I'm not sure what happened exactly - I'm assuming it was just the fact that a lot of Korean grammar is kind of... negations, really. Like, you say a lot of, "Don't you like that?" sentences, when you really mean, "You like that, right?"

Christmas came and passed. This year it was a very big non-event - I called my mom, I hung out with my roommates, we cooked breakfast (funfetti pancakes, eggs, ice cream) and dinner (rosemary mustard chicken, apple potato salad, stir-fried vegetables) and watched movies. Christmas isn't really a real holiday for me anymore. If I'm not with my family and/or in America, it doesn't exist.

A few weeks ago I went to Seoul for the day. I met up with Hyunho and we ate Malaysian food, and then wandered around Itaewon/Cheongryangni/HUFS for a while, then I met up with Taehyub and we had bubble tea and Indian food. Then I came back home. Not a bad day.

Last Friday (one week ago from today, actually) we had a 집들이 (house-warming party) and it was a lot of fun... especially since we got to kick everyone out at about 11:30 because they had to go back to the dorms. Ahaha.

Today after class Alyn and I went to Gaeksa (downtown) to go shopping. H&M had a nice sale going on... unfortunately the two things I liked didn't come in my size. Then UNIQLO had nothing good. And the bookstore didn't have what Alyn wanted... kind of a wash-out, to be honest.

The year is almost over... I need to figure out some resolutions and see if I can convince myself to stick to them.

I can totally relate. If I'm not with my family (or at home) it feels like I've skipped Christmas entirely.

It seems like you have a lot of friends. That's wonderful ^^

Exactly... Christmas seems to be to be a family holiday, and not being with them at Christmas makes the holiday particularly dull!

And thank you! I'm surprised I've actually made friends here... I spent the last few years watching my friends slowly dwindle away, and suddenly I've made more. It's nice! :)
