Mood: relieved, sort of? And stressed.

So I went to talk to Teacher Elizabeth.

"Teacher, can we talk?"

"Yes, Teacher."

"So right now I'm applying for graduate school in Korea, but the problem is that the program doesn't start until August-"

And then she bursts into Korean, looking absolutely ecstatic. "Six more months?"

"Yes-"

"Yes! Yes! Definitely! Of course!"

"- but Teacher, the problem is that my graduate program will start at the beginning of August, so I won't be able to do summer camp-"

More Korean. "Yes, that's fine, yes, thank you, thank you! Oh, but teacher, you won't be able to get your plane ticket-"

"That's okay. Thank you so much!"

"No, thank you! Thank you!"

I have never seen her look like that before. She was absolutely thrilled. Probably because I'm, what, one of the three long-term teachers who are staying? She didn't even have to talk to the principal. Apparently I'm well-liked enough here that there was no issue rehiring me. BAM!

6 more months...

Does this mean that your school doesn't pay you out for your plane ticket if you don't take a flight home? Because you have worked for them for two years.

Actually, they pay out the plane ticket each year you extend, so I've already gotten two years' worth of plane tickets.
