Mood: pleased

This weekend was nice and relaxing. I read a bunch, I studied a lot (a lot), and I slept a bit.

It seems that the dog days are, indeed, over; Shannon and I met up on Saturday evening and walked downtown. Hardly a drop of sweat formed. It was a goddamn Christmas miracle. We met up with Vanessa and went to a restaurant, where they ate and I had a glass of sangria (as I ate dinner several hours before - due to boredom). That was the first time I'd seen Vanessa since... the beginning of May? End of April? Sometime like that. After that we started to walk home, but I got us sidetracked and we explored the missionary houses in Yanglim-dong, which was exciting, because I've been wanting to see them for a long time. Finally I got home at around midnight-ish and read a bit.

Studying. Hoo boy. I don't know if I can maintain this pace forever (and in fact I know that I can't), but this is what I did today:
- Assimil French: #6 and #7 (review).
- learned about 25 new words for my Sogang textbook.
- read chapter 8 of 어린왕자.
- listened to 이야기 #1 again.
- listened and read my Sogang dialogue again.
- did 4 pages of workbook homework.
- wrote about a "special hobby."

So much. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I won't be able to do this amount of studying due to tutoring/Book Club/too many classes to teach, but Tuesdays, Thursdays, and the weekends will be my prime study time this semester. I am not going to go out of my way to learn Korean vocab outside of my textbook/every day life/my 연세 읽기 교과서/이야기/class. I really want to build up my vocabulary but I figure I'm learning more than 50 words a week based on those sources alone, so that should work in my favor. No need to stress myself out too much.
