Today I read The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I'd heard good things about it and a number of people recommended it to me. Having completed it, I've realized exactly why it's so popular: because it requires no thought. There was no analysis involved. For some reason, I was expecting a book that would require me to think and analyze. The book managed that - for about a page. And then Coelho decided that his readers were too stupid to think for themselves, so he stated the point that he was trying to make. Ridiculous.

I will have Korean tutoring twice a week from now on. I'm pretty nervous about it, actually. But it's for the best. It's time I made a change. Every year since I came to Korea big life changes have occurred in March and April. This is even true for next year, when I will hopefully be moving to Seoul and starting Korean classes full-time.

I have a cold or allergies. I think it's allergies, actually. I'm going to go scrounge up a cough drop and take advantage of one of my last free evenings pre-Korean tutoring.

I hated that book. It was just force fed author opinions the entire way.
