우리 심심한 주말

Mood: done

Friday was Em's birthday so a few of us went for dinner and dessert. It's a little silly, but that group reminds me of my university friends. I'm not saying that I miss university, but I miss the discussions I had with my friends about literature and history and other cultures. I don't much care for the discussions of drunken nights and who-screwed-whom.

I put up window stickers in my bedroom. They're opaque but translucent, so light comes in, but it blocks people from seeing in. Not that it matters since my bedroom faces the street. My room has a strange glow when the sun is shining. It's opalescent in a way.

I called for delivery for the first time since I moved to this apartment. Not only that, but I got the restaurant to change my address in their system. I also had a 30 minute discussion in Korean/English with someone who speaks as much English as I speak Korean. I held my own. I started watching the TV show Suburgatory this evening. I saw an episode on the plane back from Finland and liked it, so I started with episode one. Good show.

"The Major wished young men wouldn't think so much. It always seemed to result in absurd revolutionary movements or, in the case of several of his formal pupils, the production of very bad poetry." - Major Pettigrew's Last Stand by Helen Simonson
