1) The other day I hit the pinnacle of my teaching career: my student Jay, who had a grand total of two words of English when I started teaching him in April (those words: "No English") did an entire worksheet by himself in English. Perfectly. And this is not easy stuff either- he unmixed a string of sentences perfectly. This on top of being able to sound words out and having basic conversations in English ("Teacher, 모기 English what?" "Mosquito." "Mosquito nose go in and bzzzz!" He's 11 years old, okay? I'll take what I can get.) I'm so impressed and proud.
2) So we were supposed to be told about being rehired this week. Of course that never happened. Today we were told that they made their decisions and they'll talk to us next week. Ugh. I need to know ASAP so I can either start saving money or book flights to exotic locations.
2.5) On that note, they told us that we will all be moved to a building owned by the school after this semester. Every single foreign teacher... in one building. I... I can't. I'm of two minds on this topic: well, maybe if they cut out the middleman, broken shit will be fixed fast. On the other hand... ugh no. There goes the only thing I was going to ask for during contract negotiations.
3) 저는 요즘 자주 한국어로 생각해요. 제가 요즘 한국어 생각은 아주 편리해서 제 생각에는 곧 쉽게 한국어로 말을 할 거예요...
