Mood: not good

A couple weeks ago I started doing the Insanity workout. It's a series of DVD exercises that basically involves shitloads of jumps, squats, and push ups. It's hard work but I can already see a difference, believe it or not. To be honest, the real reason I started working out was because I would finish work at 4:30 and do nothing until I went to bed at about 10:30. This sucks up a lot of time.

So anyways, today is my day off and I'm so bored/depressed right now that I'm trying not to go for a walk. It would give me something to do, but dammit, this is my day off! And I worked out/walked for hours yesterday! And my foot is hurting! Ugh.

I'm not in terribly good shape (I haven't worked out since February) and I can do the workouts. The trick is to know when to take a break- if you can't do something, don't do it. Or, modify it. (I do a lot of "girl" push-ups...) Also, I have a history of knee injuries, and a lot of the reviews say that this workout can cause injuries. However I've had no issues since I'm deliberately treating my knees gently.

I'd say... pretty much anyone can do the workout, but nobody should expect to actually be capable of doing every single workout the whole way through. Not even the fitness folks in the videos can do it. (sorry for the novel-length reply...)
