Mood: the first

I woke up at about 2am - maybe half an hour after I finally fell asleep - to the feeling of something crawling across my legs. I turned on the light and discovered a roach on the floor next to my bed. I killed it, lay back down in bed, and spent the rest of the night feeling bugs crawl over me.

I had an excellent work out today. I came home from teaching, hopped on the bike, and proceeded to do 30km in 50 minutes. Last year at my best I was doing 30km in an hour. I should exercise later in the day more often.

I started work at 9am. It's 1:45pm. I have five more classes until I'm finished at 8pm. I am not happy.

I hate when bugs are around you when you sleep. In Germany there are no screens on the windows nor air-conditioning so you have to sleep with the windows open at night. And then these monster-sized mosquitoes fly around you. They freak me out!

Ick. Do you have a fan? Why no aircon in Germany? I was without aircon last year and a fan made my life 50x better. But then again Korea is horribly humid...

I don't have a fan..It can get hot here in the summer but sometimes it's like in the 50s or 60s for highs. This weekend it has been really cool out. A lot of houses are well insulated and the first floor is usually always cool..that's how I remember it being at my host family's. Some buildings are air-condioned now (not schools though and in some states there is school until end of July..but sometimes the kids in grades 10 and below get out early if it's too hot) but I haven't been in a house with air-conditioning before.
